Setting Sprays

Do I love them? Yes. Do they do anything for me? Yeah! In so many ways...
Setting sprays have different purposes', that’s kinda why I own so many of them. Oh man and I do want more.. So what are setting sprays you ask? Simple: to set makeup, help stray away from that "powder-y" look, make shimmer eye shadows look more intense, and to hydrate your face.

There are a lot of different types for different skin, my favorites are the ones designed for oily skin, like Urban Decay's De-slick, Skindinavia's No More Shine, and Skindinavia's Bridal finishing spray. This type of spray really helps keep your makeup looking fresh all day with a semi matte finish. The Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is awesome for all types of skin, weather your normal, oily, or dry; makes your makeup last all day! I use Mac's Fix + to hydrate my skin before putting on makeup, spray on my shadow brush to make eye shadows or pigments more intense, and to hydrate my skin throughout the day when its dry. I also love the smell of it.
Now, more of a skin care type of facial spray is the Rosewater spray from Mario Badescu. I literally drench my skin in this stuff after I get out of the shower or right before bed. It hydrates my skin so nicely and evenly. I cannot skip a day of this stuff! My favorite spray by far, and has an amazing rose aroma.

I'd recommend trying one if you have problems making your makeup last throughout the day. Also if you have dry skin or want to make your skin look more dewy. Facial sprays are an awesome treat to your face after all your makeup is done, feels amazing!

Lush Mask of Magnaminty Review

Who doesn't love walking by the Lush store and taking a whiff of that lovely Lush aroma? It lures me inside; I adore their bath bombs and lotions! I had gotten a sample of this Mask of Magnaminty and really enjoyed it, later on I got the full size. This mask is meant for the face and back, it’s supposed to dig deep and clean out the dirt in pores, and also exfoliate. The mint ingredient acts as a brightening agent and there is honey and vanilla to help calm and soothe the skin. There are little aduki beans added inside to help slough off dead skin cells.
Personally, I think this mask helps with cleaning out my pores. But there is a downside; I love everything about it except those exfoliating beans. It's super harsh on my acne prone skin; even though this mask claims it isn't abrasive, I beg to differ. I carefully pat it on my skin instead of just rubbing it in. I'm also very careful with how I wash it off, making sure to not scrub it off. I'd be careful with this mask if you have acne, since it can surely irritate it.
Retails from $12.95-$24.95

Living Proof Review: Restore line & Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Cream

Let me indulge you in this new hair secret Living Proof has to offer. This new brand has emerged from a lab, and was created by scientists who have discovered new molecules to actually benefit the hair.
One discovery (or molecule called OFPMA) is to actually shield and protect the hair from damage and restore its cuticle surface. Another (PBAE) is to thicken each hair strand, resulting in fuller healthier looking hair. GENIUS! Mind blown.
Now on to the review:
So far I have tried the Restore shampoo and conditioner, as well as the Perfect Hair day 5-in-1 styling cream. This Restore shampoo is for dry damaged hair and has that awesome science behind it. Now I haven't seen any crazy results yet, but for being sulfate free it suds up really nicely which I love. My hair seems to be a lot smoother and not as dry. You don't even need to use a lot of product, I'm used to shampooing twice with sulfate free shampoos, but there is no need to with this one. It's also safe for color and chemically treated hair, which is a plus. As far as the conditioner goes, I enjoyed it as well. Both retailing at $28.

The Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1styling cream includes five different benefits for your hair. It smoothes, ads volume, conditions, strengthens, and polishes. I think this is a good after shower type product. When my hair is damp I use this before I blow-dry. Definitely helps with smoothing and detangles nicely. My preferred way to use this product is when I blow dry with a round brush. I see better results that way, leaves the hair with awesome volume and shine. Retails at $26.

I would check out this brand, they have more shampoos and styling products that cater to all types of hair. And given that Living Proof has scientific knowledge behind it all is very impressive. You can find this brand at Ulta or Sephora.

Wishing you some happy hair days

Stila Stay All Day & Magnificent Metals Review

Hey guys! Ready to hear about some awesome products I'm loving from good ole Stila? I've been using the Stay All Day foundation as my go to recently. So amazing, I'll go a little more in detail. But first I also have to say that the Magnificent Metals eyeshadow in metallic peach is a BEAUT.

The Stay All day foundation is medium to full coverage in my opinion and has a natural demi-matte finish. I really love this foundation because it makes the skin look so flawless and not cakey. It literally lasts ALL DAY, even with my extremely oily skin. Still amazed that it keeps up very well through all the oil, and I've gotten so many compliments on how nice my skin looks when I wear this awesome base. This foundation is also hydrating and has anti aging benefits (which I just found out.) It also comes with a creamy full coverage concealer and a brush. It's a one stop shop! My preferred way to apply it is with a damp sponge and that works really well for me. I wear shade fair #2 and it seems to match pretty well with my fair yellow skin tone. This foundation retails at $44, pretty pricey but well worth it since you get more then just a foundation.

Now, for my glitter lovers..the Magnificent Metals eyeshadow is super unique and unlike any eyeshadow in my collection. It has a soft, creamy, foil like texture. Weird to explain. But it is so fun to play with :) This shadow comes with a stay all day primer and a mixing tray. There are different ways to to apply this, and I found it to be a little tricky. When I dipped my finger in the product and put it straight onto my lid, it became to be chunky and flakey so I tried a different method. The best way was to mix in a drop of the primer in the tray and take some of the shadow with my finger, mix the two and pat it on my lid. The outcome is a metallic, glitter, foiled awesome eye lid, it's soooo pretty I cant resist. I have the color metallic peach which is a soft peachy shade. Retails at $32.

How to Save "2nd" Day Hair

...or 3rd, 4rth, or 5th! You may have heard washing your hair everyday isn't the best, right? It can make your hair more dry by stripping it of its natural oils, which over time may cause breakage. It is also known to strip hair-color quicker. Some people can go 3, 4, even 5 days without washing their hair. As for me, I tend to have an oiler scalp and can go 1-2 days without washing my hair. Here are some tips and products to help save this issue.

Tip #1 is my favorite, DRY SHAMPOO
It's quick and so easy to get a hold of. Even drugstore dry shampoos are awesome and so cheap!
Dry shampoo is basically like a liquid to powder in a bottle that you spray on your roots to absorb excess oil, also it gives awesome volume. Now, the way you use it is everything so be sure to pay attention here! You are supposed to shake the bottle pretty vigorously first, then spray. Let that sit on your scalp for a minute or until you feel it dry. Then, massage your head and sort of shake it out to distribute the product. This also gets rid of the white cast that some dry shampoos tend to leave behind. But I'm telling you, it's so easy and saves you a lot of time!

Tip #2
To save an extra day or two of washing your whole head, just wash your bang area in the sink. I know it doesn't sound very glamourous, but hey! It works. That area is pretty much the most important since those are the pieces that frame your face, and of course we don't want that part to be visibly oily.

Tip #3
Use a volumizing dust to add body. Since going a couple days without washing can leave your hair limp, sprinkle a little bit of volumizing dust to the areas you want to give lift. Shake it out, and BOOM you have volume. It may seem like you are putting magical pixie dust in your hair. It totally works.

These are just some products I'm using right now to help save my second day hair.

Tarte be MATTEnificent Colored Clay Eye & Cheek Palette Review

I recently got this beautiful Tarte Palette and could not wait to share it with everyone..first of all I am a sucker for the packaging. I mean look at the beautiful detailed cover it has. And secondly it includes 6 matte mauve and purple toned eyeshadows, a black, and a brown to achieve a smokey eye, as well as a matte amazonian clay blush! I'm on a matte overload at the moment and I'm LOVING IT.

Tarte is known for using mostly natural products and ditching those harmful ingredients known as parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten. These purple mauve-y toned eye shadows are perfect for brides, makeup lovers, and especially amazing for mature skin. The texture of the shadows are so buttery and pigmented, such great quality. And as for the blush, it's a pretty neutral pink that is subtle but has a lasting power that will amaze you.

Here's a close up of the palette. Sooo gorgeous!

Season of Glitter (Liners)

Whether you rock glitter all year long or not, Fall/Winter is known for dazzling up the eyes with some awesome glitter. I mean what girl doesn't like sparkles on their lids, inner corners, or lower lash line?! I have a few of my favorites to show you, drug store and high end.

From left to right: Tarina Tarantino Glitter Liner in Glitter mist and Violet storm (purchased on Hautelook), Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in Spandex, and Nyx Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Silk (these two I got at Ulta.)
Glitter Mist is a pretty pink and white duochrome glitter. Violet Storm has a darker purple base with purple and blue sparkles. Spandex has teal, green, blue, orange and purple sparkles, so amazing and reminds me of a peacock! And the NYX glitter is your traditional gold.

Happy sparkly holidays!!

How to Depot Eyeshadow Compacts

What you'll need:
-A flat iron
-Wax paper
-Eyeshadow compact
-Palette you want to put shadow in

Here's how to do it:
Turn your iron on to its highest setting. Use wax paper to prevent the plastic from the compact from melting on to your iron. Then place your compact on it, this takes about ten minutes for the plastic to melt. Your shadow won't melt, and the formula won't change so dont worry! When you see the eyeshadow popping out a bit, its time to turn the iron off. Let your compact cool down before you remove the eyeshadow pan!

This is how it should look like when done

Now you can put them in your magnetic palette:)

Good luck!
