Updated Oily Skin Foundation Routine!

Oily skin is my favorite subject to talk about. I have described in depth what oily skin is in my last foundation routine. Click here to see that one! I love to try new products, especially foundations and powders, I am always looking for the next best thing. But if I really love a product that works well with my skin, I will keep repurchasing it no matter what.

Here is the new list of products that have been heaven sent dealing with oily skin:
-Dermalogica Clear Start Oil Clearing Matte Moisturizer
-Mac Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Primer in radiant yellow (I use this so my face isn't too flat looking) Read my review for it here.
-Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation (don't let the hydrating part fool you, it's very matte)
-MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
-MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural Powder (for when I want a heavier coverage) or Bare Minerals Mineral Veil for a translucent powder look.

Tools used to make this look happen:
-Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend out foundation
-Sedona Lace Flat Top Kabuki Brush #928 to pack on MAC MSF powder
-For my more natural finishing powder days I use Real Techniques blush brush.

And that's it! Four simple steps to achieve a flawless, long lasting base for oily skin. This will also work well with combination skin.

City Lips Lip Plumping Treatment Review

We all want luscious, full pouty lips don't we?
I've been testing out this lip plumping treatment for a few weeks now, and I am pleased with it. City Lips has formulated this product with collagen peptide technology to diminish fine lines, plump and moisturize at a cellular level, fancy huh? This lip plumper is considered a treatment because it can produce semi- permanent results with continued use. Also, proven to increase lip size by 2 millimeters!! Amazing.

It comes in a lip gloss form with a lot of different shades to choose from. I got it in clear so I can use this as a night treatment (which is recommend.) Also there is no sting or burning sensation most lip plumpers have. Not an irritating kind of lip plumper.

My lips are on the smaller side, not terribly small but I like a more full look. This before and after shows my first time use of the product. After ten minutes is when you see the result. What you can see in the after picture is that my fine lines have all been filled in and I have more of a defined appearance to my upper and lower lip.

I will say the only con to this treatment is you have to keep using it to work correctly. With my continued use, I am happy with the end result, and my lips are actually fuller then it looks in the picture above.

I purchased this for $35 on the City Cosmetics, and was lucky enough to get a BOGO deal with free shipping on it.

Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Mrs. Mia Wallace Collection

This year being the 20th anniversary of the film Pulp Fiction, trusty Urban Decay decided to commemorate the occasion with an eyeshadow palette, glitter, nail polish, lipstick and liner all thanks to their muse Mrs. Mia Wallace.
I've picked up the iconic 90's red lipstick and liner. It is a darker blood red badass color.

This lipstick is so creamy and ultra pigmented thanks to Urban Decay's lush formula.
But the lip liner is the star product in my opinion, the liner makes the lipstick completely budge proof. I could wear the liner alone if I wanted to get that matte look. Or under the lipstick of course to have a creamy-long lasting blood red pout.

Now, this collection is super limited so, if you were a fan of the movie or you have a makeup collection best you buy it ASAP! Purchased these two at Ulta. Mrs. Mia Wallace lipstick is $22, Mrs. Mia Wallace lipliner is $20.

New Beauty Test Tube July 2014

New Beauty Test Tube is the ultimate beauty sampling program. This is my first time trying the subscription and I am happy to say this beats all the other sampling systems I've tried, like BirchBox and Ipsy.
This subscription comes six times a year and is $29.95 for each tube. You also get a magazine that is pretty much a new in beauty bible, it's amazing! If you are into trying what's new in the beauty realm, I'm sure you will love this.
As soon as I opened the box that it came with, I immediately screeched because the first thing I saw was a full size IT Cosmetics brush valued at $48. Already pleased at this point since the subscription is only $29.95 and the items in the box in total are valued over $100. So worth it!

Here's what I got, items are listed from left to right in the picture above:
Biosilk Color Therapy Lock & Protect Leave-in Treatment (full size), StriVetin-EV Get Even Brightening Serum, Revlon Wrinkle Remedy Line Filler (full size), La Roche-Posay Mela-D Cleanser, Jergans BB Body Skin Protecting Cream, Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner
Bottom Left: Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact, IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush (full size), and Grande Face Lift Serum.

So many goodies right?! Can't wait for my next one:)

Lorac Pro Palette 2 Review

Okay like I really need another eyeshadow palette right? I do, couldn't resist from looking at the colors inside this new Pro 2 from Lorac. Unlike the first pro palette they came out with, this one has a nice blend of cool and warm tones. More leaning toward a silvery-gray range. A good handful of shades caught my eye since I find cool tones to be more flattering on my skin tone. I had to have this palette!

Here is the layout of the colors. So into that pinky peach shade Nectar, Navy, and Jade. Gorg! And lets not forget Plum and Chrome. Those are all my favorites so far.

Here is a close up of all the colors. All matte shades on top, and shimmers on the bottom row.

Pigmentation is phenomenal, very similar to their first pro palette. What I love is that all shades are very blend-able. But you definitely need to build up the color to get maximum intensity.
Purchased at Ulta $42

Happy blending,

The Balm Cosmetics: A Collection

The Balm may seem like a hard to get brand. But aren't things that seem are hard to get worth it? Yep, so worth it! The Balm has the cutest 1950's quirky pin up packaging that catches my eye. And the product inside is always worth a mention. I purchase items from this brand whenever it's on Hautelook, a flash sale site. You can get them on thebalm.com, and certain Khol's stores also.

Here's my little gathering of their awesome products. I honestly love them all, always impressed with each item I try!

From left to right:
Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder
Awesome at setting your foundation, although it is supposed to be translucent, there is a slight tint to it. Makes my makeup stay in place.

Mary-Lou Manizer highlighting powder
One of the brands best sellers! The most beautiful champagne highlight for the highest points of your face. Be sure to use a light hand! It is super pigmented. Works great as an eyeshadow and  inner corner eye brightener.

Instain blush in Argyle
This is a long wear blush. Love this color for fair skin tones, it's a baby petal pink. But don't let the light color fool you, it can pack quite a punch since the pigmentation is amazing. It really does last all day on your cheeks.

Overshadow's in No Money, No Honey and If You're Rich, I'm Single
These are both mineral eyeshadows, meant to use alone or over a shadow to give it a pretty luminosity.  No Money, No Honey is a sort of a pale gold, very similar to Mary-Lou Manizer, just in a loose form. If You're Rich, I'm single is  a cool tone mauvy brown shade, love!!

Schwing Black Liquid Liner
A super black MATTE liquid liner. I'm normally not a fan of liquid liners because they are hard to work with and shiny. I decided to give this one a shot since it is matte. This liner was life changing!! Super fine tip for the most precise line, and so gorgeously matte.

Origins GinZing Eye Cream & High Potency Night-A-Mins Renewal Cream Review

I've been wanting to try the Origins GinZing
Eye Cream since it has been raved about among other beauty bloggers. When I saw this eye cream in a gift set with the Night-A-Mins Cream, I new it was time to give it a shot.

This particular eye cream is supposed to instantly reduce the look of dark circles, de-puff, and of course moisturize. It has brightened up my under eye area, which I like in an eye cream. But the main reason I use an eye cream is for hydration. Its performance in doing so is average. Didn't WOW me. Boo! I really wanted to love this product but, I just didn't find that something special factor to it.

Retails for $30 at Sephora

Now, on the other hand..the High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral Enriched Renewal Cream is hands down amazing. This night cream renews your skin over night. I saw an immediate difference the first time I used it! It is supposed to  resurface skin while adding moisture. Basically it sort of exfoliates as you sleep, revealing brighter newer skin. I've seen a difference in my acne scars and I've been using this mostly every other night for two months now. Love it!! Night-A-Mins cream is not harsh on my skin, but I do not recommend using this everyday, too much exfoliation may damage your skin.

 Retails for $39.50 at Sephora

Both these products are apart of Origins best sellers list
I highly suggest you try the Night-A-Mins cream.
