Makeup Forever Artist Shadows Review

Howdy everyone, I'm trying to get back into my beauty blog. I've taken some time off and boy do I have so many things to share with you.. I am still a huge makeup consumer so just be ready for more reviews to come!

Any who.. I ordered some Makeup Forever Artist shadows over the past week. Just received them in the mail and I am wearing them on my eyelids today! Beyond impressed!! Now, what's special about these shadows is they are the best ones on the market right now as far as pigmentation goes, these babes are 80% pigment. Woooah. They also have the best blend ability in a shadow because of the gel like formula and intense color payoff. These aren't just meant for eyes; these can be worn as blush, bronzer, or for whatever you like. There are over 100 shades to chose from and come in a few different finishes as well, so far in my little palette I picked out the mattes and diamond finishes since thats typically what I gravitate towards.

Left to right
M-600 Pink Brown
D-826 Fig
D-320 Golden Khaki

-Pink Brown is a warm pinky brown that is perfect for the crease or all over the lids.
-Fig is this super pretty purple cranberry shade with glitter.
-Golden Khaki is a olive green with gold glitter.

I have a few more I want but they are sold out online and in stores..so until then I have these to hold me over, and I couldn't be happier with this trio.
The shadow pan themselves cost $21 each at Sephora, but if you buy them in a customizable palette with 2 or 3 shadows it is a much better deal. 3 shadows with the palette comes up to $44, and you can pick whatever color you want. It's an awesome concept.

Happy Blending!

NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette Review

It's that time of the year for great makeup buys! The holidays bring around amazing gift sets and palettes..a weakness for me for sure!

I might of went a little crazy this year at the Sephora VIB sale. I purchased products that I could get a lot of use out of. This NARS Virtual Domination palette was probably my favorite purchase.
I'm glad I got my hands on this one, since last years NARS cheek palette sold out super fast! This one comes with 3 blushes, a highlight shade, and their famous Laguna bronzer.

The first shade Miss Liberty, is a beautiful highlight if you're a fan of a really intense sheen! It is like straight glitter for your face, I think it looks beautiful on the cheeks.
Next to that is Deep Throat, a permanent in the line, it is such a beautiful shimmery peachy color that really makes a nice pop.
The lighter pink of the bunch is Sex Fantasy, a cool tone matte baby pink that is especially pretty on fair skintones.
Final Cut is a matte true peach color, I've been mixing this one with Sex Fantasy and it gives me a really pretty custom shade!
Last one is Laguna Bronzer, I was scared to try this one since I thought it to be a lot darker then it was, I have a really fair skintone and this bronzer still works for me! NARS is known for Laguna so I'd like to express that this one impressed me the most.

Overall, if you can still get your hands on this please get it!! Amazing pigmentation and quality. It is a limited edition holiday palette, with a great value at $65.

Happy Holidays!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick Set Review

I have been dying to try out Kat Von D's lipsticks since they have become available at Sephora. As soon as I saw this set with cute minis, I knew I had to have it! This lipstick set comes with 9 beautiful shades, has an awesome color range, and of course I need to mention the chic-sleek packaging.
This set has two different finishes, matte and a metallic, iridescent finish. Matte finish is my favorite when it comes to lip products and these are not drying at all. I was a little weary about trying the metallic shades but I have to say they look really cool on the lips. The formula with all the shades are comfortable, pigmented, and long lasting. Claims to be a 10 hour wear lipstick!

Here's a close up of the shades:
Agatha: pale peachy nude
Lovecraft: (my favorite) mauve pink
Sexer: hot bright pink

Countess: bright orange red
Wonderchide: shimmery purple pink
Bachelorette: reddish pink

Adora: red with gold sheen
Hexagram: a blood red
Mötorhead: black cherry

I purchased these at Sephora for $39, great value for what you get!

Mac x RiRi Viva Glam Rihanna 2

I am reviewing this shade for multiple reasons: I have never seen a lipstick quite like this, I wanted to see how bad ass the shade looks on multiple skin tones, and because Rihanna has always rocked it with Mac Cosmetics collaborations.

photo taken from NikkieTutorials

This shade is described as a warm mauvey sliver frost. It is more like a very cool gray brown to me, and very frosty. Works really well with a mauve lipliner! Now, I had to try this out for all my fair-porcelain ladies like myself. It is a bit of a different color and can be hard to pull off. With the grunge trend happening, I think this is a perfect shade. With the right eye and cheek makeup, this can be done! And of course I have to mention how amazing this looks on the deepest of skin tones. Rihanna hit it out of the park with this one.
Purchased at the Mac Store for $16.00

Updated Oily Skin Foundation Routine!

Oily skin is my favorite subject to talk about. I have described in depth what oily skin is in my last foundation routine. Click here to see that one! I love to try new products, especially foundations and powders, I am always looking for the next best thing. But if I really love a product that works well with my skin, I will keep repurchasing it no matter what.

Here is the new list of products that have been heaven sent dealing with oily skin:
-Dermalogica Clear Start Oil Clearing Matte Moisturizer
-Mac Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Primer in radiant yellow (I use this so my face isn't too flat looking) Read my review for it here.
-Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation (don't let the hydrating part fool you, it's very matte)
-MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
-MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural Powder (for when I want a heavier coverage) or Bare Minerals Mineral Veil for a translucent powder look.

Tools used to make this look happen:
-Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend out foundation
-Sedona Lace Flat Top Kabuki Brush #928 to pack on MAC MSF powder
-For my more natural finishing powder days I use Real Techniques blush brush.

And that's it! Four simple steps to achieve a flawless, long lasting base for oily skin. This will also work well with combination skin.

City Lips Lip Plumping Treatment Review

We all want luscious, full pouty lips don't we?
I've been testing out this lip plumping treatment for a few weeks now, and I am pleased with it. City Lips has formulated this product with collagen peptide technology to diminish fine lines, plump and moisturize at a cellular level, fancy huh? This lip plumper is considered a treatment because it can produce semi- permanent results with continued use. Also, proven to increase lip size by 2 millimeters!! Amazing.

It comes in a lip gloss form with a lot of different shades to choose from. I got it in clear so I can use this as a night treatment (which is recommend.) Also there is no sting or burning sensation most lip plumpers have. Not an irritating kind of lip plumper.

My lips are on the smaller side, not terribly small but I like a more full look. This before and after shows my first time use of the product. After ten minutes is when you see the result. What you can see in the after picture is that my fine lines have all been filled in and I have more of a defined appearance to my upper and lower lip.

I will say the only con to this treatment is you have to keep using it to work correctly. With my continued use, I am happy with the end result, and my lips are actually fuller then it looks in the picture above.

I purchased this for $35 on the City Cosmetics, and was lucky enough to get a BOGO deal with free shipping on it.

Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Mrs. Mia Wallace Collection

This year being the 20th anniversary of the film Pulp Fiction, trusty Urban Decay decided to commemorate the occasion with an eyeshadow palette, glitter, nail polish, lipstick and liner all thanks to their muse Mrs. Mia Wallace.
I've picked up the iconic 90's red lipstick and liner. It is a darker blood red badass color.

This lipstick is so creamy and ultra pigmented thanks to Urban Decay's lush formula.
But the lip liner is the star product in my opinion, the liner makes the lipstick completely budge proof. I could wear the liner alone if I wanted to get that matte look. Or under the lipstick of course to have a creamy-long lasting blood red pout.

Now, this collection is super limited so, if you were a fan of the movie or you have a makeup collection best you buy it ASAP! Purchased these two at Ulta. Mrs. Mia Wallace lipstick is $22, Mrs. Mia Wallace lipliner is $20.
